1. Wow that's harsh for Graybeard to say to Tao because drawing is Tao's compassion. Imagine you lived back then with Tao, there was no video games, TV,and etc.. For Tao drawing was the only thing fun for him not hunting or gathering only drawing because Tao gets to be creative, and drawing was the only thing that let him express his feelings. Even though if drawing was a Taboo for his clan Toa was willing to break this Taboo and many more because he was willing to do the things thats right for what Tao believes in.

Why do you think Graybeard changed his mind? I think that Graybeard did change his mind because he said that he wanted someone more professional than Tao. At least that's what I understood from the book.

The ingredient that Tao used were limestone powder, fish oil, yellow clay, charcoal dust, boiled fat, clotted blood, and honey. The ingredient that surprised me most was the yellow clay because I don't know how did they find the clay I think they made it out of mud and something else to make the clay yellow. 2. Why is Tao afraid at the end of the chapter?
Tao was afraid at he end chapter because Graybeard was coughing loud and Tao noticed his weary shambling gait. Tao's heart ached and deep inside he was afraid for his old friend Graybeard.

Wow! What a chapter! What was your reaction? Tense? Surprised? You predicted it? Write a paragraph describing your reaction. I was surprised that Volt is Tao's dad because since Volt is mean and he despises Tao who ever thought that he ended up being Tao's dad.I was shocked in that chapter.I think that's where all the action is on chapter 17 ! I was shocked, tense, and surprised all at once. And now that Tao has defeaten the sacred bull the curse was lifted and then Volt said now they can all hunt with wolf dogs.I wonder why Volt was always so mean to Tao if Volt knew that he was his son. Then all of a sudden he starts being nice to him because Tao really did show his manhood by deafeating the sacred bull. Actually I think that Tao is the bravest hunter in his clan because no one has ever defeaten the sacred bull; and especially Tao since he's only a young boy. And now Volt respects Tao for beating the sacred bull and Volt let's Tao follow his dreams of being a cave painter.
